Spark Core V1.0 not in the WiFi list

Dear all,

I did not use this Core for years. I got this Core from Kickstarter years ago. I want to let my daughter to use it and to build her 2nd robot.

I have not idea why the Core did not show up its wifi on the list.

I have done these steps:

  1. DFU Mode - particle update
  2. DFU Mode - particle flash --usb tinker
  3. ERASE WiFi credentials Mode
  4. Listening Mode - particle serial wifi

The Core is blanking blue and I cannot see its wifi on the list.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

Is it blinking blue or breathing cyan?

It sounds like you are trying to bring it online using particle serial wifi.

Are you able to do particle serial wifi successfully?

FYI. The current CLI version is 1.29.0. There are currently no system firmware updates available for this device.

Have you tried?:

particle flash --factory tinker
particle flash --usb cc3000
particle flash --usb tinker

It is blinking blue. I cannot find the core in the Wi-Fi list using particle serial wifi.

You should select the wifi you want the core to connect to in that list I think. The setup is done over serial, not wifi. There is also an option to enter the SSID manually.

I recall this part now. It works. This Core is still good a few years later!
