Hi @sanwin,

Did you already claim this core previously, or is this the first time claiming the core? You can also try tapping ‘reset’ on your core while the phone is searching for cores.

Some Android phones have trouble claiming, you can also claim over serial / usb: http://docs.spark.io/#/connect/connecting-your-core-connect-over-usb

Thanks!

No, this is my first time, receive it today. But I have similar issues with other CC3000 chip-based devices.

Looks like timeout waiting time is to short in app…

So Core doesn’t support all Android devices, do you have a list of compatible devices?
This seems like a big problem for any serious use in real-applications. What do you think?

Hi @sanwin,

I know community members have seen issues with Smart Config specifically on the Nexus 5 (I believe). But a list of devices with known compatibility issues would be helpful, definitely.

Most of the issues we’ve seen are related to doing smart config while your device is connected over 802.11n, or 802.11ac that use the 5ghz channels for data, which the core can’t see with its 2.4 ghz radio. Partly for this reason the core can be configured over serial as well http://docs.spark.io/#/connect/connecting-your-core-connect-over-usb

Thanks!

Hi,

After several days of testing, I am confident that one of the problems is in too short time of waiting for a response.

I suggest you to double increase this waiting time in the smartphone application.

I’m sure because core start working few seconds after the application throw that was not found.

Thank you! I’ll forward this along to our mobile app team.

Thanks!
David
