O’h Why did I fiddle 
Summary - I have been using my Spark for a few weeks and without problems.
Set it up originally with the IOS App. Connected straight away.
I needed to change my SSID as it was very similar as used by my neighbours and quite long.
Once I had made the change to the SSID (9 digits long - Alpha characters and numbers only)
I tried to connect again and all I could get was Green blinking.
Setup:
Computer iMac OS X 10.9.2
iPhone 5S
Modem - Virgin Media SuperHub
Router - Apple Extreme ~ 4 years old.
Channel set to 7
Security WPA / WPA2 Personal (Have change to Unsecured as well)
Mode 802.11a - 802.11b/g
Based in the UK.
Spark powered by USB port and separate power supply.
Started on my quest - using the Troubleshooting guide
Still could not use my IOS App to connect - Tried moving my setup inches away from my router as well.
Setup spark to be Blue Blinking.
Entered credentials
Spark entered solid Blue for a few seconds -> Blinking green
Left until IOS App timed out.
Tried setting up using USB
Still no Joy with spark setup wifi
Setup spark to be Blue Blinking.
Run spark setup wifi from terminal
Entered credentials
Got response from terminal -> Serial said: Awesome. Now we'll connect!
Spark entered solid Blue for a few seconds -> Blinking green
Tried the CC3000 Patch
Results:

I Did see the Solid Magenta and then Blinking Magenta
Setup spark to be Blue Blinking.
Tried again using the CLI to connect same as before.
Reading through more posts - I got he impression that their could be a more up to date patch

Noticed that the size was different - so I assume that it was a different patch.
This time I did not have to push the mode key for 1 sec - It appeared to install and then went to Blinking Magenta.
I think it then went to Blinking Green.
I have run out of ideas and would really appreciate any assistance.
