Can we easily replace the SIM card that comes with the Electron? I actually think I can get a better data plan locally.

It should work seamlessly but haven’t been tried and tested yet.
You should indeed be able to replace it with your own.
Keep in mind though, that even though a local plan might appear cheaper per MB, it could very well be that they charge in quantities of kB. The Particle sim should only charge you for actual data usage. Be sure to check what the minimum is that they’ll account you for, since it’s often many times more than what you need for an IoT command. It’s a bit of a waste to be charged 100kb for a request of a couple of bytes.
