Boron claiming trouble

Hello—I've claimed dozens of Particle devices of all particle types and noble gases, but claiming Borons isn't working for me today. I am attempting to claim Borons via the mobile app. I can scan the QR code and it can find the Boron (i.e., mobile app says, "Congrats, you've successfully paired Boron-xyz," but then I get the message on my mobile device: "Error: Something went wrong with Bluetooth. Please restart the set up process and try again."

Some other details, none of which change the outcome:

  • The status LED is blinking blue/listening
  • I have restarted the Boron several times
  • I have tried multiple Borons
  • I have tried it with battery and USB power to the Boron
  • I have turned off, waited 5 minutes, and turned my phone back on
  • I have turned BLE off and back on on my phone
  • I used Particle Device Restore USB to (re)flash the Device OS and Tinker at 6.2.1.
  • The Boron shows as "Connected" under Bluetooth devices in my phone's settings

All roads nonetheless lead to the popup message in the Particle app on my phone: "Error: Something went wrong with Bluetooth. Please restart the set up process and try again."

What else can I try? Thanks!

The Particle mobile app is no longer supported. You should use setup.particle.io with your Boron connected by USB to a computer instead.
