this device among 50 others were used for a hardware hackathon that i conducted in my university few years ago and some devices are still connected to some participants account and we are unable to figure out a solution
is there any easy way to do multiple devices and we are unsure on which all devices are linked and which all can be used as we still use these devices for various hardware workshops and its possible that some participant can leave the device paired to their account even after being told to unpair.

I released the device. Unfortunately there isn't an automated way to release those devices because they were part of a product. By design, product devices can't be released automatically to prevent devices in an actual commercial product from being stolen and then released and reused.

Regarding the other linked projects i guess ill have to come here with the device ID when i find a linked device and we’ll make sure that everyone releases the device after workshop is done.

What can I do? I do not know the other owner - the seller as well not :frowning:

Hi Particle.io community and rickkas7,

I emailed particle support and they told me to post here.

I am also having the “Another account already owns this device.” Problem. I’m using a Particle P1 device from a company known as Mary Agrotechnologies Inc. (TSX-V: MARY). This is a Canadian Cannabis technology company which ceased operations in 2022.

Their cloud backend and app are permanently offline and the company no longer exists and they have discontinued the product leaving their customers like me stranded with a brick.

As the company no longer exists and refuses to answer any emails this is my last hope to get the unit back up and working.

The device ID is: 280042000d47393035313135

Id much appreciate it if the board could be released so I could get my unit back up and running!

I released your device so it can be claimed and reprogrammed. However, since you don't have access to the source code, or even the firmware binary, or the back-end infrastructure, I'm not sure if this really gets you much closer to a non-brick unless someone has made an open-source alternative firmware.

Holy moley quick response! Thank you very very much! I have pulled the original firmware already off the unit. Another person I was talking to his wasn’t locked so he was able to claim it get it up and running with no issues. For some reason mine was locked.
