WPA vs WPA2 AES vs TKIP

Hello,

I’m shipping a couple of Argons out to a site, I have the SSID and PSK, but I don’t actually know if their encryption is WPA or WPA2, and if it’s AES or TKIP. Will that matter, or can I just leave that blank when adding credentials on the command line and it will just sort itself out?

Thanks,
Aaron

Most likely it will be WPA2. If you are adding credentials to Argon before shipping via the USB and command line then SSID and password should be sufficient without specifying the cipher: AES or TKIP or AES/TKIP. Again, most likely it will be AES.

Thanks,

That is definitely my assumption, but its an older faciltiy - it’s certainly possible that the router is 10+ years old.

As a simple solution I just went ahead and added 4 permutations of encryption/cypher.
