Let me try rephrasing what I said above: where does it fail? What doesn't work? Is there anything specific not working?
What OS are you on?
What version of Node.js are you using?
Do you get an error output somewhere? If so, share that.

Saying "it doesn't work" is rather meaningless. We need more information, not less. Less is not more when debugging.
hirunning windows 8 nodejs version 0.10.40 when typing install particle at coomand prompt following error message appears could nt install optional dependency:not found:git
Did you try the installer I linked you to, since that should work nicely? You can select to install the CLI only from the drop down menu there.
i have installed the toolchain etc… but not sure whow to progress from there.
If you type particle in a command prompt, what does it say?
particle is blinking cyan but I cant download anything from cube tube
