You can wrangle that hoss any way you want, but from a customer’s view, it chucked ya. @Jack 's thread or anyones thread that is polite does not need to be shut down.
Message heard @Bendrix - we will definitely do a better job of communicating any threads we’re trying to fold into one another and make sure people are on board.
With all respect, I am not looking for an answer of "we're staying the course". I was looking for an estimated date that my photons should arrive here.
Do you expect them to ship out of California on or before the 23rd?
Will they be shipped to me from California, or from China?
As Will’s update mentioned we’re looking at:
Shipping week of 6/22: All remaining orders with only Photons and/or Maker Kits
**The reason I am not giving an actual day is because of how many factors go into actually shipping a product from China to the US. One truck is late, or a plane is delayed and it sets us back a day. We often don’t get those updates until the day things are supposed to arrive. Everything is being shipped out of California.
Thanks @Steph, That info is really appreciated.
Have a great day.
I received an email over a week ago saying mine had been shipped which included a tracking number for UPS.
When I click on the tracking link though the UPS site hasn’t changed at all since the 28th May and still says “Order Processed: Ready for UPS”.
Is the tracking number wrong?
Have UPS just not updated their website accordingly and it is on its way?
Should I not have received that email?
Hi @GroovyGrovesy - I’m so sorry that it hasn’t reached you yet. Can you email your order number and the issue you just described to hello@particle.io? We can follow up what is going on with your order. Thank you!
Sorry if I am asking the same question as everyone else but I got tired of reading all the complaints.
I ordered 2 photons on November 12, 2014 as part of the initial 1000 photons with free shipping.
Is there an actual week in which I should expect to receive them? Or are the dates still slipping?
I cannot use a core because I need access to the CANbus. So I am really relying on the photon to arrive soon.
Thanks!
Brian
Drop an email to hello@particle.io
with your order number.
I'm going to repeat my question, since it hasn't received an answer... I received this email on December 3rd:
and haven't heard a thing since.
I think an update on this thread would be appropriate ever second day at least.
It looks like it has now been over a week.
Please keep us updated on the schedule.
Thanks, Jack
I just got this email from SparkFun.com:
I hope that means mine is nearly on its way, and not that mine was shipped to SparkFun for resale.
- Rich
I got my kit last week. Other photon based products still on backorder.
sent email there a few days ago and heard nothing back yet
Dave
I ordered on 12th November last year: if they ship the first batch before end of June 2015 they need to hurry!
FYI: I ordered on the 12th NOv as well. (#101615645)
Mine was sent last week and arrived earlier this week.
I think you may have missed the latest update posted on the forum, which has the latest info. (see last post)
I think comparing your loyal followers, eager to receive their Proton shipments, to annoying children’s “are we there yet” question, is at minimum disrespectful. We are all eager because of the success of your buildup fot the Photon during the sales and production cycle. That worked well, we want it!
I am not sure if you are aware but several of your responses lack a certain respect to the customer and have a “nose in the air” aloofness to the user.
You recently suggested that a way to figure out when a Particle order shipment was made is to track you credit card to see when it was charged. I think the traditional division of roles are: Customer looks to the shipper for status and the Bank for monetary services. Particle does’t do Banking and Bank does not make and ship IC.
You have set the bar high for yourself on your own and benefited handsomely as an enterprise. The Production, communication an shipping logistics has been way off your standard by any measure.
@Dogan, as far as I know, @Moors7, while an elite, and quite an active member of the forums, isn’t an employee of Particle, just a fan
In addition there might be language issues at work, I’m not sure but his first/primary language might be non-english.
I’m confident he meant no disrespect, @Dogan.
As @mumblepins says, he’s a volunteer here on the forums (primarily for technical issues, not logistical ones), and not a Particle employee; although it is very easy to see how the lines get blurred.
Thanks. I am sure Moors7’ intentions are good however if he is a fan he shot himself in the foot.
On an other matter: I would like to use the Photon 3D file for a device we are making currently with Spark Core. I am an Autocad and GeoMagic 3D Modeler and not a Sketch-up user and graphic artists I know who use it do not have the plug-ins to convert the Sketch-up files to .dwg, .igs or .stl so I can use it in my 3D Model. You mentioned that your model started as an Eagle file; I have Eagle layout editor, basic free viwer I previously imported to CAD or if you have the Sketch-up utility to convert to one of the 3 above mentioned extension would it be possible to get that from you?
