Particle Photon 3.3V Current Draw Question

Hello,

I designed a pcb for my particle photon and the board contains a input for a lipo battery and a buck-boost converter which powers up the photon via the 3.3v pin. On the datasheet current draw for 5v is given at an average of 80-100mA with wifi on. Is the current draw if powered through the 3.3v pin the same?

Thanks

I think current draw with WiFi on is about the same but you can get much lower sleep current when supplying power via the 3.3v input pin vs the going through the buck regulator.
