Nrf52840 Nordic USB Dongle with Particle

Has anyone in this forum got the nrf54840 USB Dongle? Can you reply in this thread, long story, but I am working on a connectivity project with it, the OpenThread Border Router and the Particle Devices.

Here’s what it looks like:

Fairly fancy programming with the nrf-Connect for Desktop Windows or Linux/Mac.

Sweet program that activates a bunch of bluetooth capable programs and installs the Bootloader, Soft Device and Application for you.

(Probably not a good idea to use with a pre-installed dongle like the seedstudio one since this could install over your pre-installed software.)

This App measures bluetooth RSSI values from 2.40 GHz to 2.48 GHz

If you have one, please reply. I have 3.

I have one but haven’t used it yet.

Thanks for the reply @peekay123 I hope a few others have some. I am having mild success setting up an openthread border router taking parts from these 3 tutorials.

The best thing I have found is this site from makerdiary with ncp client and bootloader firmware for the dongle along with the nrf connect for desktop multi-platform software for transferring the firmware to the dongle.

@rocksetta, I bought the dongle to hopefully do mesh network sniffing, not much else.

This tutorial looks like it shows how to setup sniffing
