Kickstarter campaign-Blynk

Not sure about Android, but iOS has this functionality builtin into GPS API, you can just request "significant position update", which triangulates position using just celltower info, no GPS (as in first iPhone).

@Escko I hope you come up with some solution. iOS really needs something like App vouchers or something. Apple keeps tight lid on apps :-/ Except of maybe abusing Enterprise deployment, I can't imagine how to get app on the phone outside of AppStore (without jailbreak).

Pledged for iOS box of goodies, good luck!

This is a nice one! @Hootie81, you are making iPhone owners envy! :slight_smile:

@TheHawk1337,
We are lucky to have a guy who knows how to deal with GPS so well. But you are right, no matter what you do, battery will drain faster. Thanks for the link.

We will have Logger Widget and Alarm, we call it Timer Widget, where you can set an alarm to turn something on and off

Like your thinking! Thanks

@lami
Thanks for pledging!
There are few ā€˜official’ ways, check TestFlight for example. But again, we will do everything possible to deliver official app.

@lami that’s pretty impressive actually. I don’t know if android had it. I think it does however, Google maps gets my location pretty accurately without GPS. :slight_smile:

@Escko sounds great :slight_smile: hopefully the 18.000 goal will be reached as well for even more awesomeness

One possible solution -- Providing Promo Codes

That's cool, seems my AppStore knowledge is really rusty, :smile:

It’s their profit, I can understand them. It would be better though if I could just buy some amount of vouchers… Regarding promo codes - they allow only 100 codes :smile:

Congrats on being successfully funded! You guys must be over the moon with the result… 492% is an awesome achievement.

Cant wait to put it to use with the Spark!

Just to make everyone jealous. . I backed the early testing reward so I have been playing with Blynk for the last 2 nights (on an arduino)

Really impressed so far… super easy to use and really fast.

Can’t wait for the final touches to make the spark core version available for testing :slight_smile:

By the way, we’ve already published server and library on GitHub. Spark library is almost ready, but there are some issues. We might need support from Spark Community to resolve it. Will post our questions here, hope that it’s something very easy )

@Escko, prior to getting my Cores, I was working on a Teensy 3.0 and an Adafruit CC3000 breakout. From the looks of it, that combo should work with Blynk, correct?

CC3000 is already supported. Teensy is not in the scope yet, but it’s a matter of hours, not even days :wink:

Hi guys.

I’m the ā€œEmbedded Yodaā€ of Blynk project. Good news for you:
I was able to run Blynk library on Spark Core, and it was really pleasant and easy :wink:
For now the only example is just blinking a tiny led on D7 :smile:
We’re now adding ā€œSpark Coreā€ board type to our mobile apps, that will enable more functions.

You can find "Spark"ling Blynk code here: https://github.com/vshymanskyy/blynk-library-spark
I have also published it in the Web IDE. Library is named ā€œblynkā€.

Remember, Blynk Mobile Apps are released for a limited audience for now.
Keep tuned, and happy blynking!

@vhymanskyy Im on the Beta test program, i have the blynk for android app installed but im guessing i will need to update it to get the spark to show up in the hardware model list. Any ideas how i can do that?

I think you will need to wait a bit until they add it and publish.

But you cat start testing it right now: select Arduino UNO in the app, digital and virtual pins should work!

IT WORKS!! you guys rock! best invention besides the Spark itself :stuck_out_tongue:
