I have an Electron SARA-U620 that seems in a “bricked” state of some sort. I can get it into DFU mode, but no amount of flashing new firmware or using the cli command “particle device doctor” will get it to work. I have tried different app and device os of all combinations and still nothing. Whenever it boots all it does it immediately go to flashing green.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
I can't see anything wrong with that - it should go into flashing green immediately.
However after a while (up to 5 minutes) it should transition to other color codes. It would be good if you could state what happens after flashing green or how long it kept flashing green.
Also have you checked the SIM is correctly working and activated?

Sorry. Yes, it never exits green. I have wait up to 4 hours. I also brought it to a different location in case there was a cell issue. I worked briefly with David Middleton on this, but I don’t want to take any more of his time so I have turned to the forum. I actually just unclaimed and released the sim and reattempted setup, but of course, since it cannot get to breathing cyan, it never actually finishes the setup.
Right now the only thing connected to the particle is the usb, a battery, and the antenna.
Everything is properly connected as far as I can tell.
I cannot get it into safe mode, since I cannot get it to connect to cellular network.
Doesn’t seem to matter the SIM, still just does same thing.

Just continues to write that message over and over : XX.XXX AT read + …
I will try to post a video in a second.
That’s showing no compatible towers, which means:
- Antenna problem
- Hardware problem
- Deactivated SIM
- Bad SIM (lost configuration in mobile carrier network)
- No compatible towers
- Wrong Electron for area
Your SIM card is activated, so that’s not it, and U260 is the correct Electron model for your area.
You should follow the instructions for the Carrier Scan option for the Electron Cloud debug. That will show all compatible towers which will help narrow down the remaining possibilities.

The electron cloud debug never actually gets to a point where I can “use” it. It just repeats the logs that I posted above. I see the message about : a - enter APN for 3rd-party SIM card
k - set keep-alive value
c - show carriers at this location
t - run normal tests (occurs automatically after 10 seconds)
But I cannot actually select any of them.
I have tried running the particle.exe from both CMD and Powershell both running as Admin (Windows 10 Pro version 1803)
