I need assistance recovering a lost project in the Web IDE

Dear Particle Support Team,

I’m in need of assistance in recovering a project that has mysteriously vanished from the Web IDE. The project’s name is pws.ino.

Thank you,

Alex

If the entire project is missing, it's not typically recoverable. The most common cause is that it's saved in a different account; entire project don't really ever just disappear. Or it was explicitly deleted from the user interface, which is not recoverable.

The only thing that can sometimes be recovered is if the latest changes were lost, which can sometimes occur if you have the same project open in two different browser windows.

Hi rickkas7,

I had the Web IDE open. I was updating the project. The Mac Pro required a reboot due to an update, so I rebooted the computer. When I got back to the Web IDE, the project was gone. This is a complex project , many hours of work. It’s a Personal Weather Station that feeds data to Weather Underground. It’s not recoverable. I don’t know what to say. It will take many more hours to rewrite it.

The project was saved last night around 11 p.m., so a copy got to be somewhere.

Thank you,

Alex

I would try clearing your browser cache and also use the Settings - Clear cache item in your Web IDE. There is still a PWS project in your account, it hasn't been deleted.

Got it, rickkas7, the project is all the way to the bottom of the list. Actually the name is 01-pws.ino

Thank you for your quick replies.

Alex
