I’ve accidentally registered a new Electron with the wrong account. Upon realizing this, I’ve now “disowned” the device from the incorrect account - but I can’t seem to re-register the SIM. Every time I try the system responds that that ICCID has been registered by another user.
Is there any hope of self-service re-registration with the correct account?
The SIM setup has nothing to do with the Particle account you have claimed it to.
To claim it to your correct account, just go in Particle Build to the target drawer and add a new device by entering the device ID.
Or, if you have, you can use CLI too.
Thanks, @ScruffR - I have now claimed the device using the CLI - but I’m still unsure who is getting the bill for the cellular usage on that SIM. Any thoughts?
Hi @ScruffR, the account I accidentally wired the SIM to already had a payment method specified - so it just piggy-backed on that. The SIM shows up on the billing tab in the other account. I can deactivate it there - but even then I can’t register it against the proper account.
How do I get in contact with support? I tried filling out the form on the support page, but that didn’t generate a response… I’d love to either get this straightened out - or get a new SIM.
This is a more complicated process that requires hands-on support from one of our technical engineers until we’ve built out a better process for manually requesting the transfer of SIMs like we currently can transfer devices. Would you mind submitting a ticket at support.particle.io so we can take of this request for you?
