particle flash --usb tinker
running dfu-util -l
Error writing firmware…dfu-util is not installed
I’m following Tutorial: Installing DFU-Driver on Windows [24 Feb 2015]
I have Zadig and installed the libusbK driver on Photon DFU Mode. I could not find CORE DFU.
I still need the dfu-utils, which I would expect to be in the installation…why do they need to be distributed separately in this strange .xz which I am unsure how to install/uncompress, which the tutorial link doesn’t detail installation instruction.
https://s3.amazonaws.com/spark-assets/dfu-util-0.8-binaries.tar.xz…
7zip was able to open the archive, i copied to a path and added that path to env path.
particle update now succeeds and particle flash --usb tinker also work.
So my bad code actually requires me to flash a new firmware…lol.
Thanks for the help,
