Device in dfu mode

i tried to debug my device (without a particle hardware debugger) and therefore got an error (thought thats done with the regular usb connected cable not with another hardware piece).
then the device started to blink purple so i thought i just put it in DFU mode, flash tinker and done.
unfortunately, its in dfu mode now and when i flash tinker it says: flash succcess!
but seems like thats not true because the device just stays in dfu mode

i could reset it now but i would really like to get somehow out of that without resetting again the argon
is this a known problem/behaviour of the device?

Try running a full update via particle update -v (possibly) followed by particle flash --usb tinker -v

Yes, when the device is ill-treated it tends to sulk till you apologize
