Hello together,
i have troubles again with a boron 2G/3G. Three working, one dosen’t.
Observation:
- Boron blinking 12s blue after reset, than switches to blinking green endlessly.
What did i try:
- Connecting USB in DFU mode and flashing different versions works, but does not alter the behavior.
- particle flash --usb hybrid-0.9.0-boron.bin
- particle flash --usb hybrid-0.8.0-rc.25-boron.bin
- particle flash --usb hybrid-0.8.0-rc.27-boron.bin
- Factory reset leads to blinking pattern as described in documentation but behavior does not change.
- Switching to LISTEN mode while blinking green leads to blinking blue. Android app is able to pair with device, displays mesh usage setup configuration question, but answering this question with Yes/Now resets the device ~10s after answer. App than displays dialog again but has lost connection to device.
What to do here?
Kind regards!
If you have flashed user firmware to the Boron, try putting it into Safe mode and see if it behaves better.
If it doesn’t, PM me the Boron’s Device ID and the SIM’s ICCID.
Following I tried after i flashed system-part1-0.9.0-boron.bin and hybrid-0.9.0-boron.bin over USB successfully.
To enter safe-mode: Releasing MODE button after RESET while magenta blinking gives:
One short white flash, 10s blue blinking, followed by endless green blinking.
I do not get the device into a state where particle identify is successful. Although ttyACM0 pops up on plugged in and device powered but I’ll get:
Serial err: Error: Error: Device or resource busy, cannot open /dev/ttyACM0
Serial problems, please reconnect the device.
(while blinking blue).
I cannot get the device into a state where I can perform setup successfully again. Device is currently unclaimed. Nothing I did altered the observed behavior described in first post.
Boron is blinking blue the whole time. Setup through app does not go further than “Mesh network choice”. Yes/No both lead to reset of boron after some seconds and again blinking blue…
Please PM me the Device ID and the ICCID.
We had to ship the prototypes to the customer, therefore we just brought another boron for one of the products.
14 days later I powered the male functioning boron again, and setup with smartphone works like a charm. My assumption is that there was something wrong with the device connecting to particle cloud after unclaiming.
Case closed.
Kind regards!
So you mean the female Boron is still dysfunctional
(sorry, couldn't resist to pick that up
)
