Boron 404X DOA - No LED other than yellow charging

I have several new (as in less than a couple weeks) old Boron 404x's and one of them just will not come to life. I have tried troubleshooting it, but the rgb led never comes on at all. Only the small yellow charging led next to the USB port comes on. Sometimes it blinks very rapidly and sometimes it is solid. It is on only one of the devices.

I have tried multiple power mechanisms and multiple usb cables and power suppled. I have walked through the troubleshooting steps but unfortunately it doesn't even appear as a serial port on multiple computers.

Is there a way to get this thing to come to life or is it a dud, and if it is a dud (since it is so new) how do I swap it for a working one?

One last thing to check: Unplug the USB power. Hold down the SETUP button and continue to hold it down while plugging in USB. Does the status light come on?

It's most likely a hardware issue. If you have a CMSIS/DAP debugger there is a small possibility that it could be fixed if it was a corrupted bootloader, but this is unlikely for a new device.

SETUP is the same as MODE? If so, no love :frowning: thanks for the quick reply.

Sorry, MODE button. It's SETUP on the Photon 1, MODE on everything else.

Sounds like a hardware failure to me.
