@RWB, I assume you claimed the Photon first! I added Tinker as the user app simply because it is familiar to everyone. It could be a dumb blink app also, just to show the app is running. The SoftAP runs when the Photon is in LISTENING mode and the easiest way to test it is to wipe all wifi creds forcing it in that mode. If you are not getting the SoftAP webpage then the app didn't flash correctly.
