Using Particle SIM card on Raspberry Pi 3G Shield

I want to build a Raspberry Pi to Monitor an RV. It would log things like voltage, temperature, and many other things, but most importantly, GPS location. Most of the time, I would access the Pi and it’s log over wifi, no problem…
But in the event the trailer gets stolen, I want to be able to ping it and over 3G.
Assuming I can fine tune and minimize the data that the Pi transmits for such low-bandwidth (emergency) use, can I put the Particle Sim into a 3G Pi Shield?
Thank you for your attention.
Sean

I don’t see any issues doing so since the SIM card is essentially like a mobile internet data plan.
