Spark core not functioning with battery shield and 1200mAh LiPo

Hi all,

I am aware this has been mentioned before but it was back in January and I am not sure if the battery shields have been updated since. I have one of the battery shields plugged into the Spark core, and I bought a larger 3.7v LiPo battery (1200mAh).

If I connect the battery shield with the battery and USB to the core just flashes green and the battery shield gets very hot. If I plug the core directly in with USB, it works fine.

Is the solution still the same as in January to desolder part of the battery shield?

Thanks

@christophmccann,

I believe that the new battery shield have fixed this issue.

Are you using an old battery shield? You can check to see if the component is on your shield by comparing with this thread:

Let me know how it goes!

Another thing i will try is to plug the USB to the shield and attach the battery to see if charging happens without the core. :wink:
