I’m working to fit the Electron in to an enclosure and am finding the dimensions of the supplied battery to be a limiting factor. I’d like to source one in the 1000 mAh range that’s closer to 3/4" of an inch wide vs the 1 1/4’ish width of the stock battery.
After reading all I can find on the forums, it seems that capacity should work fine with the default charging current and that it’d be good to look for one with short circuit protection built in. Since this is just for a demo I’m not too concerned about the number of cycles the battery supports. 3.7V, of course. Are there other considerations?
And finally - I’d appreciate any pointers to reputable sources.

I’ve also been looking for something similar, But it seems anything over 200mA-h or so is going to be between 1-1/4 to 1-3/4 wide (unless you’re prepared to pay for a custom size). I’m going to keep looking though, maybe I’ll find something used in drones.
I just started looking at drones. The following has the wrong connector; that’s easily fixable. Thoughts on Venom 600 mAh battery?
@MikeWhitten: what are the dimensions of the Electrons battery? And did you find an alternate one?

Stock Electron battery: 2" x 1 3/8" x 3/8" as I measure the one I grabbed.
Replacement I’m using: 2 1/4" x 3/4" x 3/8" as I measure.

Be careful cutting off the old connectors - the batteries are pre-charged. I didn’t think about that and smoked one. That’s how I learned the batteries were fused…
