[Resolved] MacOS Capitan 10.11.6 Photon Upload Fails

Hi,

I have upgraded my Mac to the mentioned OS version. After that suddenly uploading via DFU to my Photons no longer works. Basically as soon as the Photon switches to DFU mode it will not be listed any longer under /dev/cu.usbmodem*. Anyone else seen that? Any idea for fixing?

I would reinstall dfu-util. If you previously installed it using homebrew, upgrade homebrew first. Same if you used MacPorts.

I could try that. But if the Photon is not even visible in /dev/cu.usbmodem* I think that would not help.

The problem is that you lost the DFU device driver, reinstalling dfu-util will put it back.

Also, a Photon or Electron in DFU mode doesn’t normally show up with a /dev/cu.usbmodem* entry. It only shows up in normal operating mode or listening mode as a cu device.

Thanks for the suggestion. I upgraded brew, reinstalled dfu-util and it is working again. Weird. Anyway, thanks a lot!
