I have an original Photon that I'm trying to get working (while waiting for my Particle Programmer to upgrade the firmware of my Xenons) and the Photon is not working.
Testing it on a Shield Shield board (led lights up on there) and standalone, I do not get an LED on the device. Trying to perform a factory reset does nothing. Plugging it into a PC, I do not see it in device manager.
The buttons on the device do not seem to affect anything.
I can read 3.2-3.3V on the 3V3 pin. I read ~4.9V on the 5V pin. The D7 pin has maybe 40-50mA of current.
I've also emailed support but the automated message said to reach out here.
Any suggestions as to what I can do to get my device back working?
With the board disconnected, holding down Setup while plugging into a USB port does nothing (LED flashes nor showing up as a device in device manager). Similarly, holding both buttons down and releasing Reset has the same outcome described above.
@gusgonnet, those are the procedures that I followed and the unit does not go to safe or DFU mode.
@peekay123, I have tried while plugged into the shield shield, standalone on a desk, and plugged into a breadboard. Still does not show up in Windows/go into DFU or safe mode.
I recently bought a programmer shield, but am waiting on my jtag cables and programmer to arrive.
