Photon flashing yellow

  1. That looks like magenta flashes and yellow flashing to me.
  2. You can’t enter listening mode if the photon is already in dfu mode.
  3. That looks identical to the first video

To me it looks like the SETUP button is damaged (stuck in the pressed position), which may explain why every time the Photon flashes magenta and yellow (light sequence of entering dfu mode) every time you power it up.

It could be a power issue or a bootloader issue. The photon may just be toast. :thinking:

I just tried something with one of my photons. If I plug in the photon while pressing the SETUP button the photon will enter DFU mode, and I can list it in dfu even if I haven’t released my finger from the SETUP button.

Are you 100% sure you don’t see the photon when you do:

dfu-util --list

when the photon is connected and blinking yellow?

Thank you for trying that! I just re-checked: dfu-util --list doesn't detect the photon.

Hey black_a,

You mentioned other devices are flashing fine, and you believe it to just be this one. Should that be the case, I would of the opinion that it is possible this one may be defective.
