My research group is interested in purchasing the Tachyon for one of our IoT projects. Would it be possible to get the following specifications about the board?
Power requirements (voltage, peak current, average wattage)
Any chance on an update when full specs and documentation will be released? I see that pre-orders are going out to some early testers with the next batch shipping sometime Q2. Should the relevant documentation be available if this is being sold, deliveries started, with full deliveries over the next few months?
I’ve been waiting to order some for an upcoming project, but it’s difficult without understanding the full capabilities of the board.
Thanks for any help. I am really looking forward to this. Upstream Linux is a huge win for my projects.
Hi, do you have detailed specs for the Tachyon power demands? We want to power it with a battery, but the included battery will likely be too heavy for our needs. Could we get an approximation of peak wattage, current, and average wattage?
There are no power consumption numbers yet, and it will be tricky because it's an octa-core processor including low-power cores, so it will depend on how much is running and how computationally intensive it is. Also, it will make a difference between cellular and Wi-Fi.
Sleep modes are not supported at this time, so it will always be running and the 3-cell battery pack will only last for 3-7 days with cellular on but mostly idle, so a smaller battery may have very limited life.
