Is it possible to scan for MAC Addresses of WiFi *CLIENTS*?

Similar to WiFi.scan(), is it possible to scan for WiFi clients (e.g. mobile phones) to retrieve their MAC ADDRESSES?

I don’t know if this is even physically possible.

I don’t know either, but this week I am looking at the steps needed to expose AP mode on the photon, and finding the MAC addresses of connected clients would be useful, so I’ll have more details later.

It is possible

BUMP…

Would be nice to have photon controlled relays make certain some outlets/appliances are automatically disabled whenever my phone’s MAC address isn’t present on WIFI.

Or maybe I don’t want to run the stereo when my parents are around, having an indicator (LED) letting me know their phone is on the WiFi network might be nice.

Just some thoughts.
