Hi, I have a project that we have tested in the US with NA SIM cards. We will be taking it to Europe and have B24 SIMs that we will swap out. From what I have found we can setup the B24 sims: Setup a Boron LTE in Europe for a US customer in NA, but I am not sure what the best way to add these to our account would be. Should I make 2 versions of the product, 1 in NA and one in EU? Should I flash the firmware over USB, or if I flash it using the NA SIM and then swap the SIM in Europe will it still be there? If there is a guide we can follow on best practices for doing this that would be super helpful.
Thanks
There is not a swappable SIM for the B404X and B524. It's a physically different device because the SIM is actually the same, it's the cellular modem that's different.
If you are using the B404X and B524, you need to have two different products because one is the bsom platform and one is the b5som platform.
If you are using the B504E (US/CA/MX) and B524, you can put both of them in a single product since both are b5som.
You can almost always use the same user firmware for the bsom and b5som platforms, but since each product can only have a single platform binary, you may need to compile the software twice and use two different platforms.
ok, so I will make a new product for the B524 Sims. Is there a way to put the firmware on the B524 before I ship to Europe as I won't be there and I want to make it easy for the client. I have B404X here in the US and the firmware works. I just want them to be able to plug and play if possible!
Yes, flash the device firmware and Device OS by USB before shipping it. If you've added the device ID to your product, it will activate the SIM and all they should need to do is power it up.
