Hi, I am new to this forum and I am learning how to use the Particle products. I am wondering if using the Photons will at all compromise the security of my home network? I know that hackers are always looking for “an open door”. Are there any measures that I need to take to minimize the likelihood of a hack?
Many routers support a guest network. If yours does, enable it and put your Photon on that WiFi and it won’t have any access to the rest of your home devices.
its quite unlikely that your photon would be the weakest link in your home wifi network. If you have any devices that don’t do automatic over the air updating (even most wifi ROUTERS dont do this) thats where your weak link will come from…
