So I just received the Electron yesterday and I was able to flash my code to it. As soon as I turned it on, I could get the breathing cyan. Today for some reason I turn it on and its flashing cyan forever. Cant seem to breathe and I’m checking the dashboard and it still says there was no connection.
It was then able to breathe cyan for a few minutes but then went back to flashing cyan. Anyone have this problem?
Yes, flashing cyan with an occasional red blink on both Electron and Photon is an issue currently being investigated. The discussion is going on in the thread linked to above.
If you’re still getting red/orange flashes after fast blinking cyan now that the cloud is stable, you might have a keys issue.
Put the Electron into Listening mode (blinking blue) by holding down SETUP until it blinks blue. Then issue the CLI command:
particle identify
Save the Device ID; you’ll need it later.
Put the Electron into DFU mode (blinking yellow) by holding down RESET and MODE. Then release RESET while holding down MODE while it blinks magenta, until it blinks yellow, then release MODE. Then issue the CLI commands:
particle keys doctor <deviceid>
particle keys server
particle flash --usb tinker
Mine is working now but I only made it half way through your instructions. When I was in DFU mode I had to install drivers on my computer and in the process unplugged the cable which power cycled the Photon again, when it came back it connected to the cloud. So entering either listening mode or DFU mode fixed it for me.
I’m having the same issue with a brand new Particle. I should note it is an Africa/Asia/Europe model running 0.4.8. I tried the above with no success, I’ll try updating the firmware. Any other thoughts?
After updating the firmware to 0.6.1, same deal. I’ll also note that I’m in East Africa right now. I get a medium-fast cyan flashing, then really fast cyan blinking, with an occasional 3 fast red blinks thrown in here or there.
