Device Transfer Request - Argon & Xenon Already Claimed

Hi @Support,

I currently have two Particle devices — one Argon and one Xenon — in my possession. However, I am unable to claim them because they appear to already be registered under a different Particle account.

Here are the device details:

  • Argon Device ID: e00fce68d81118e980a14d06
  • Xenon Device ID: e00fce68a055cd709b22ae96

I attempted to claim the devices via CLI using particle device add and was prompted to request a transfer, but the transfer failed with the message:

"Failed to claim device: That belongs to someone else. To request a transfer add ?request_transfer=true to the URL."

Could you please assist me in transferring these devices to my Particle account?

The Argon can be unclaimed, but mesh networking including the Xenon has not been supported since June 2020, so once the existing mesh network between these two devices is broken it can never be reestablished.

I understand that mesh networking is no longer supported.
However, I only want to reset the device and claim it to my own Particle account.
Is there any way for you to assist me with that?

I unclaimed both, but you won't be able to claim the Xenon without a working mesh network or Ethernet FeatherWing. You can still program the Xenon by USB and use it offline without claiming.

You should be able to setup the Argon using setup.particle.io now.
