Connect Photon to WiFi network with no password

Is there a way to configure the Photon device via USB, to a WiFi network with no password? What should I enter for password when the command shell asks me for that?
I was trying to use “particle serial wifi setup” command line.

you should choose unsecured it will work?

Hi @kennethlimcp, it didn’t work, it still asks for a password.

I tested and it worked for me:

There’s no password prompt

  • Using a serial terminal like Putty,
  • place the Photon in Listening mode
  • hit “w”
  • enter the SSID
  • choose 0 for security
