Is it safe to work with BSoM devices without an antenna connected?
It’s safe to use the B Series SoM without the BLE antenna.
We do not recommend using any cellular device without a cellular antenna connected as the cellular modem is not intended to be used without an antenna.
In practice, the cellular modem won’t be damaged from limited use with the antenna disconnected. For example, during testing, with a device that is only used for testing, you will probably be fine. However the U.FL connector is not rated for frequent disconnection and reconnection, so that could be damaged with repeated testing.
