Hey,
I blew up my Muon by connecting VIN to 19v. Hey why no smoke?! ![:bomb: :bomb:](https://emoji.discourse-cdn.com/twitter/bomb.png?v=12)
USB C comms work (I can flash it, I can see logs).
Battery power continues to work.
But I cannot use VIN nor USB-C to power it, charging/PD leds remain off.
Do I have any other option to power this board Muon V0 0.5?
I can use batteries but when testing they go fast.
Thanks,
Happy Holidays!
EDIT: oh wait, maybe I can use a power source via the battery connector instead of a battery?
MAX voltage 4.4V?
@gusgonnet, you likely blew the Vin (PMIC_VIN) power path of the BQ24195 of the PM-BAT module used on the Muon. Every power path except the battery voltage path goes to the power module PMIC_VIN line. So I would say your only option is to use the Li+/Vbat line using a battery.
Since you have no other (working) power source, the BQ24195 won't be able to "charge" the battery and so it won't interfere with the fixed 4.2v source on Li+.

Unlike the Tracker, the Muon VIN is connected directly to the bq24195, with no additional power supply in front of it. 12V max is recommended.
You can power from the battery connector; I would use 3.8V, not the maximum, however you probably need at least 2.5A on the Muon. Normally you would also make sure you're not charging while powering from Li+, but in your case that's probably no longer an issue.
Incidentally, when we do the current measurements for cellular devices, it's done from the Li+ pin and powering by an Otii Arc, not an actual battery.
