Is this type of accuracy normal for a GPS unit?
@jdugat, the accuracy of civilian GPS is typically 10 meters. However, is your GPS unit located indoors?
yes, right now its indoors and stationary.
Accuracy will take a hit without clear sight to the sky. If you move outdoors, you should see it improve.

@jdugat, the onboard antenna is passive (ie not amplified). By adding an external active antenna, which you can easily find on eBay, Amazon or AliExpress, you will greatly increase the indoor accuracy of the GPS. However, note that active antennas require extra power (provided via the antenna connection).
