Why not use port 80 to talk to the spark devices and the cloud?
This will allow spark devices to talk even thru firewalls… For instance in my office I can’t get the spark connected to the cloud… 
you can create a remote tunnel if you have access to a proxy box or ssh capable server…at least thats how i used to get around the company firewall (when i wasnt the one managing it)
