Testing Cloud API without Hardware

I am developing an application in Android using the Android SDK for a Photon, however, I do not currently have a Photon. I am wondering whether I can test my application WITHOUT a physical device. Fake devices that does nothing. Any thoughts?

I’m not aware of a virtual device as such, but you might be able to use the ‘particle on raspberry’, if you’ve got one of those.

Thanks for the reply, but no Raspberry PI. Just started developing for Photon

You might be able to run it on a virtual machine running raspbian, though that might be a bigger hassle than it’s worth. If you’ve got the time to wait for your Photon to arrive, that might be the easiest option.

We have the gcc version if that helps but i’m not sure how much functionality you can get.
