Stuck trying to create an IoT thermal printer

Hey everyone,

I am trying to mass produce a custom made IoT thermal printer but I have no clue where to start. I created an prototype using a raspberry pi + premade thermal printer but I would love to have a scaleable custom made solution.

I would need a PCB with WiFi that can connect to a Flexible Printer Circuit but I cant seem to find anything online.

Has anyone experience with creating an IoT device that can maybe help me further in my endeavor?

Hi, and welcome to the community!
have you looked into the Photon 2?

What kind of connection?

What kind of connection?

Thermal printers have an orange Flexible Printed Circuit (FPC) cable that connects the thermal printhead to a control board which could be the Photon 2 in this case.

Is there a way to custimize the Photon 2 or any other board with this input?

You said you connected it already to a rasp pi?
If so, the connector is rasp pi compatible, hence Muon compatible.
I would check if that is the case with this device, and validate its pin out:

the pinout is here:

and to buy one, you'll have to wait a bit (while you get familiar with the programming, platform and so).
If you are in north America you would buy this one:
