Solder wire to Photon with headers

Hello,

So I am currently trying to make these fun little “Long Distance Lamps” with my nephews for my mom for a Christmas gift. Building a Wifi Touch Light | dev/blesi

Anyways, I have some photons from previous projects but I didn’t realize that I need the ones without headers. I’m not good with hardware, more of a software guy. My question is what’s the best way to connect stranded wire to the photon with headers. Can I solder the wire just to the header pins I need? Or should I use those extension wires with a female pin to just “plug” onto the header pins…or use a proto board…

I’m sure this is a stupid question, I’m just not good with this stuff.

Thanks for any help!

I might suggest that you get a breadboard and make the circuit on that and then when it is working you could solder to the header pins or use a wire with a female connector on the end to avoid the need to solder.
