Remove Boron from Mesh Network

Hi
I want to remove Boron from the mesh network but I get this error
Unable to open USB device: LIBUSB_ERROR_NOT_FOUND.
If I leave the Boron in the mesh network what happens when the aforementioned network goes out of service?
