Is it possible to make cellular phone calls and texts on the Tachyon SBC using an inserted phone SIM card? I'm planning on upgrading from my current smartphone soon, and while I'm going to get the Tachyon either way, it would be cool to make my own 'phone' using it rather than buying one.
Ideally I would like to be able to achieve this functionality with the included Ubuntu OS, to have all of the benefits of a linux computer and a mobile phone rolled into one, but if it's only doable using android, that is also acceptable.

This will probably not be viable, at least initially. The Particle SIM does not support SMS or voice, and does not have a phone number associated with it.
The Tachyon does not have a 4FF plastic SIM card slot. It does have an eSIM, however at least initially you will not be able to program an arbitrary SIM into it.
