Every time I try to update the firmware of my Argon (when setting up), it fails with the error "We lost communication with your device. Please make sure your device is connected to your computer via USB and continue. (etc.)". It is in DFU mode (blinking yellow), then I click "update" and it takes about 30 seconds to a minute before starting to blink blue and then fails with the error. I've tried to update the OS manually using the Workbench extension for VSCode (It actually worked), but I still can't claim the device! I've tried claiming the device before (like 2 weeks ago) and this same thing happened but only like 4 times before it miraculously worked (for no apparent reason), but now I needed to connect to a different wifi network so I reset the device, and now I have probably tried like 10 times with no difference
Oh boy, that sounds annoying! Have you tried the Device Restore tool or the Device Doctor? Please try them and let me know what happens.
Thanks for the response, but both of the tools you sent me don't work:
Device Restore Tool:
- Follow the link
- Click "Select Device"
- Select the device
- Click "Flash the Device"
- There is a message that says "Your browser requires authorization to reconnect to your device now that it is in DFU mode. This is a normal browser security precaution."
- Click "Reconnect"
- Select the device
- After a few seconds, it goes back to the message in step 4, and gets stuck in a loop (I keep doing steps 4 and 5 over and over)
Device Doctor:
- Follow link
- Click "Select Device"
- Select my device
- Click "Flash Device"
- Shows a message saying "Your browser requires authorization to reconnect to your device now that it is in DFU mode. This is a normal browser security precaution." and a section called "Device Information saying that the device is not claimed to my account and not in a product I have access to.
- Click "Reconnect"
- Select my device
- After a few seconds, it goes back to the message in step 4, and gets stuck in a loop (I keep doing steps 4 and 5 over and over). Exactly the same as the Device Restore Tool
Thanks for your help, but I found the issue! I am using Brave Browser, and it was blocking stuff. I lowered the Brave Shield and it worked.
