Is Particle-dev on Linux still supported?

Hello great community,

I used to do all of my development for my Photon on a Macbook Pro, but now that it has died, I am using a Linux laptop. In trying to recreate my working environment, I have been trying to install Particle-dev on that new laptop to no avail. I have followed the instructions given here: GitHub - particle-iot-archived/particle-dev: Particle Dev package for Atom , but never managed to get it to work. I have tried 3 different distributions (Linux Mint, Ubuntu and Fedora) and didn't get it to compile on any of them, hence my question about whether Particle-dev is still supported or not. Has anybody managed to get it installed on Linux lately? If so, would you mind sharing your instructions?

Here is the result of apm --version

apm 2.4.3
npm 6.2.0
node 10.2.1 x64
atom 1.40.1
python 2.7.15+
git 2.17.1

Thanks a lot,
B.

While Particle Dev still probably works on Linux it has deprecated and replaced with Particle Workbench, which has many more features and great Linux support.

If you have any issues before or after installation, the following tips should help:

Thank you!!! I went through the install and it went without a hitch. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction. Workbench looks great although, there is a little bit of a learning curve coming from Particle-dev, but within 5 mins, I was able to compile my project.

Thank you again for the help.
