With IFTTT’s release of the Do button, I was hoping for a way to call a function with input, just like in the old IFTTT app. I see that a user named “fredericoweber” made a way to publish an event, but I would love to use my existing code which relies on functions. Does anybody know of a way to create a new Do action, or is someone on the Spark team able to do it? Thanks!
Have you tried opening the app already? If you try to create a trigger it presents you with the option of triggering an event, or triggering a function, of which the latter is what you’re asking for.
Give it a try, and let us know if you can’t figure it out.
I see those options in the IFTTT app (now called IF), but I only see private event in the Do Button app. I’ve attached a screenshot of what I see. Should I be seeing the function call in the Do Button app (https://ifttt.com/products/do/button)? Thanks again.
you’re searching for pe-made recipes, rather, try making your own by pushing the big + button.
Oh wow, can’t believe I never noticed that button. Thanks for the help!
But from the webpage how do I access “channels” option?
When I click the + button, it redirects me to the search of already created recipes https://ifttt.com/recipes/do?channel=do_button
And there is no option of creating a new one there
