How many connections can Photon support in Access Point mode?

I am looking at using a Photon as an access point for local network of wifi-connected sensors and need to know max. number of connections it can support.

I can’t find where I got that info from, but IIRC it’s up to 7 devices but only 4 free sockets to actively communicate at one given time.
