Gen 3 Sleep Mode with Network >10 Min

Hello,

I was reading sleep mode documenation and ran accross this section.

Is there anything wrong with sleeping for longer 10 min in STOP/Ultra Low Power mode with cellular on? For instance, I should be able to sleep for 15 min, since it is below the keep alive of 23 min and not face any issues with aggressive network reconnection as I never disconnected. It may not be as power efficient as turning off cellular, but allows me to retain the option of wake from network.

How close can I get to the 23 min keep alive period before I risk losing connection?

Is there a way to send a keep alive message before going to sleep so I don’t have to worry about potentially missing it or is this not something I have to worry about? For instance, if keep alive was last sent 10 min ago and I sleep for 15 min, do I wake without cloud connection, since I am 2 min past the keep alive?

This is fine. The 23-minute period is from the last publish or last keep-alive ping. Since there is no way to know exactly when the last keep-alive ping was, this can be tricky. However, if you publish before going to sleep, you can use that as a guide for the maximum time you can be in sleep with cellular on.
