Flow to onboard new Muons

Hey,

I want to onboard a brand new Muon into an existing product and I want it to remain unclaimed.

The intro to products tell me to:

  1. Add Devices to
  2. Initial Device Setup
  3. Device and Claiming
  4. Development Workflow

On the other hand, the Manufacturing procedure tells us to activate the SIM:

  1. SIM Activation
    But it mentions to do so in the case:
    If the manufacturer’s desired flow involves activating each individual SIM just prior to manufacturing, without adding the device to your product, you can use the following setup flow.

Questions:

1- Do we need to activate the SIM as stated in the Manufacturing process?

2- Or does the fact of adding the device to a product activates the SIM as well?

Adding the device to the product is all you need to do.

(Except on the Electron 1 with a 4FF plastic SIM card instead of a built-in MFF2 SMD SIM. Plastic SIM cards are not associated with the device when it is manufactured so they can't be activated by adding the device to the product.)
