Sometimes when I go to console.particle.io and docs.particle.io, the webpage causes my screen to flicker at a rapid rate, temporarily burning in an image of the site on my monitor. I am using Chrome on MacOs. In console.particle.io, this most commonly occurs when I am looking at the devices in a product. Random docs will start doing this, including the start page Get started with Particle | Start | Particle
If I go to any other tab, the flickering stops until I come back to the Particle tab again.
Its a little difficult to see, but after leaving chrome on a Particle tab and then going to a new tab, you can see the previous Particle page in the monitor, in this case the devices view for a product in console.particle.io. Normally, this would just be the gray chrome tab color.
In chrome://settings/system, can you uncheck “Use graphics acceleration when available” and check if the issue still occurs after Chrome restarts. Recheck the option after testing this.
If you have a high refresh rate display, temporarily set the diplay to 60 Hz and see if you still see the flicker.
If neither of these work, does an incognito window also show the issue?
Sure, my current settings are to “Use graphics acceleration when available” enabled and refresh rate at 144 Hz.
These site aren’t always flickering for me, so it may take sometime for it to happen again. They are not currently flickering for me. If I disable “Use graphics acceleration when available” and reload, the sites don’t start to flicker.
For now, I will leave “Use graphics acceleration when available” enabled. When flickering starts next, I will check incognito at the same site, lower to 60 Hz and finally try disable “Use graphics acceleration when available”.
It does occur in incognito mode if I go to the linked page.
I turned off graphics acceleration, but that also caused chrome to reload, so while its not currently flickering, I am not sure if that’s because of the setting change or reload. I’ll keep graphic acceleration off for now.
