External antenna support for Mesh?

Is this still the case? I thought I read somewhere that you can compile using particle workbench a version of the device os that would allow this? But I can’t find it. Any help on this would be appreciated.

The official API commands for selecting an external are not exposed to the end user yet. However, @rickkas7 posted the necessary code to switch to external antenna here:
